November is a big month for the literary world, there are a ton of great new releases coming out and it might be hard to decide what to read. At The Crafty Bookstore we want to help recommend a broad range of reads to not only challenge you to try new genres but also books we think will live up to the hype! These novels are in no particular order, but do include a variety of genres!

A Tribute of Fire by Sariah Wilson

This book will be the first in a series referred to as The Eye of the Goddess. One of our owners had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for this novel and it lives up to the hype! The drama, the dilemmas, the development of relationships and connections but also surprises! We highly recommend this Fantasy-Romantasy read of trials, survival, struggle, and slow burn romance.

Servant of Earth by Sarah Hawley

The beginning of The Shards of Magic series, this novel promises the oh so loved fae with magic and a unique world building many advanced readers enjoyed. Elements, a tyrannical king, deadly trials, a rebellion and of course romance are present in this fantasy many have compared to A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Cruel Prince.

Revenant-X by David Wellington

The sequel to Paradise-1 and continuation of the Red Space series, Wellington delivers the mix of horrors with science fiction by taking you back into space and the terrifying trials that await one crew. If you love the Alien movies, or body horror, we think this book might just be up your alley.

Where the Library Hides by Isabel Ibanez

This novel is the second and final installment in The Secrets of the Nile duology. This Historical Fiction is a combination of The Mummy and Death on the Nile, and some even compared to Indiana Jones has a lot to live up to, but we feel confident the second book will deliver the promise just as the first did.

The Songbird & the Heart of Stone by Carissa Broadbent

The third in the Crown of Nyaxia series and the first in a spinoff called The Shadowborne Duet, this series has captivated readers into a love it or hate it realm. We've talked to several in both and it seems the excitement is abuzz for this vampire drama. This novel promises betrayal, trials, and an adventure into the underwold not unlike Dante.

The Lake of Lost Girls by Katherine Green

A mystery/thriller with multiple timelines that leads you to the terrifying reality of how one girl's sister disappeared. The novel promises true crime culture, lies and deception wrapped in a captivating storyline of family that never stops fighting for the ones the love. ARC reviews say this book with leave you with twists and turns you aren't expecting!

We Shall Be Monsters by Alyssa Wees

A dark family focused fairy tale filled with creatures and monsters, and magic galore, this novel has blown advanced readers away with high ratings. For lovers of Fae, mysterious forests, and a redemption storyline we think this is a good choice.

The Courting of Bristol Keats by Mary E. Pearson

Slated to become a duology, this book is filled with family deception, unlikely alliances, gods and monsters, and romantasy. The hype is real on bookstagram, and from ARC readers it is accurately placed on this novel. Many are even saying they don't know how to handle waiting for the second book, reading slumps may ensue after this read.

A Cruel Kindness by Rory L. Scott

Imagine merging the words of fantasy and romance in the atmosphere of space. Fated mates, forbidden love, and interstellar travel all fill the beginning of a new series by this indie author. One of our Owners is a member of the ARC team and gives it two thumbs up already!

A Very Bad Thing by J.T. Ellison

Another thriller has arrived, and this bestselling author took a great plot twist moment, the main character who doesn't make it... a hit selling author! The psychological turns and the search for a criminal and the facts behind the crime are unmatched according to ARC reviews and we think lovers of the genre should definitely check this novel out.

The Road of Bones by Demi Winters

Vikings, forbidden love, wrapped in immersive world building and oh we can't forget it will be part of a series! We think this romantasy with a historical twist with fill a nice gap in the popular genre. ARC reviews are the highest of the list and we think this means you should consider this book for your next read!

Pike Island by Tony Wirt

The past is never dead, and this book takes that concept to come back with a bite for one politician and the haunting mail he receives. Those around in begin to question, and our question becomes does his secret remain hidden or eventually does it all come to light, and what is that secret anyway?

The Serpent and the Wolf by Rebecca Robinson

Political intrigue, magic, arranged marriage, unlikely alliances and betrayals all are packed in this, currently standalone but talk is coming of a second, novel. ARC readers say the world-building is captivating, and the romance is a well-placed subplot that doesn't dominate the whole novel.

The Estate by Sarah Jost

Magic that sends you into the world of a piece of artwork... sign us up! This interesting mix of thriller and fantasy sounds unique with a touch of historical, the book is described by many ARC readers as a page turner and not everything is as it seems.

The Swarm by Andy Marino

We can't have a list of book recommendations without at least one creature feature. Combining the world of police investigation with crime, cults, and the horror of insects ravaging the world we know. ARC reviews show the descriptions are top notch, graphic and sometimes gory and the novel sucks you in with multiple points of view.

Darkly by Marisha Pessl

This YA novel includes a mix of dark academia, gothic mystery, and maybe even a little horror. An internship with a company turns dark and even dare we say deadly for a group of teens. ARC reviews say it's a dark and twisted game that leaves you unclear on what's game and what's real with a highly developed plot.
